Dear KIMMission Prayer Partners:
Warm greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We, Barnabas and Joy, are well in His grace by the power of your love and prayers.
We have good news: Recently I, Barnabas, have been selected by VA Shreveport Louisiana Medical Center to be part of the Pastoral Care Team! This means that Joy and Barnabas are going to move again from Baltimore, MD to Shreveport-Bossier, LA very soon. Yes, here, Baltimore is good for us to live, but we have been praying for a rural and smaller place for the place for our long-term life and ministry due to the high living and housing cost here in the Baltimore region. I was not sure or confident of being transferred to another VA because this is my first year of my current job at VA Baltimore. However, Joy and I still wanted to apply anyway to the position of VA Shreveport, one of our favorite places to live in by faith, and the LORD our God Almighty answered our prayers in His miraculous way. Both my current Chief Chaplain and his counterpart of the Shreveport VA have approved, supported, and blessed me to transfer. Both of them have had good experiences/impressions of working with Korean Chaplains through their VA and Military services before having me. I always have benefitted other Koreas’ reputation – praisetheLord!
In addition, my first year Annual Performance Appraisal/ Evaluation that came out this past October was “Outstanding with All Five Top Blocks.” I worked hard but did not expect the top tier that eventually gave me a quick promotion of one more step as an award. Again, I do Praise the Lord and thank you all for your prayers! – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the LORD, not for human masters.” [Col 3:23]
I am still waiting for the official job offer from VA Shreveport, Overton Brooks Medical Center, and its HR said last week that the tentative date is March 26. So, we are planning to move out from our house on post Fort Meade, MD around March 20. Joy and I are praying that VA Shreveport may be my permanent work and mission field until I retire from my full-time missionary ministry.
Please pray for the rest of the Onboarding process, moving to Shreveport by driving a U-Haul truck again, and settling down in Shreveport-Bossier – we pray for the housing on post the Barksdale AFB in Bossier city.
Thank you again for all your prayers, love, and support for us and the Korean International Ministries. Hallelujah!
Faithfully in His grip,
Barnabas and Joy KIM
